The experience

A time-travelling adventure back to Frankfurt in the 1800s

Travel back to 19th-century Frankfurt with TimeRide Frankfurt. This VR experience takes you through three stops to show what life was like in the city two centuries ago.

First stop, visit a colonial goods store from around 1830, where you’ll learn about the trade and products of the time.

The second stop is the Riedel family study, a Biedermeier salon with pictures, portraits, and a historical narrative about industrialization, revolution, and democracy.

At the final stop, put on a VR headset and ride through the city in a replica carriage. You’ll hear city sounds and see scenes from daily life, guided by a fictional merchant, Theodor Riedel, on the way to an electrotechnical exhibition.
