The experience
Explore San Francisco's Little Italy and visit an infamous prison
Your North Beach walking tour starts at Washington Square Park, the city’s first public park. Learn about its role after the 1906 earthquake and fire, and admire the vintage lampposts and Coit Tower in the distance.
You will also visit Saints Peter and Paul Church to see its Italian marble altar and hear about its connection to Joe DiMaggio. As you walk through the colorful streets of San Francisco’s Little Italy, enjoy views of Lombard Street and the Golden Gate Bridge.
Then visit Pier 39, where you can see the sea lions. Afterward, your guide will take you to the departure point for your cruise to Alcatraz.
On Alcatraz Island, you can tour the prison with an included audio guide, visit the gardens, and explore the exhibits. You can return at a time that suits you.
