The experience
The National Pantheon of Lisbon took a long time to build - 284 years in fact! It was declared the *National Pantheon* in 1916 and today, many former presidents of the Republic of Portugal are buried here.
Pay your respects to them, as well as other prominent personalities on your visit, including Humberto Delgado, a great opponent of the Salazar dictatorship, Vasco da Gama, Luís de Camões and fado artist Amália Rodrigues. The panoramic views of Alfama from the terrace are worthy of a few photos, too.
