Once built to defend against pirate attacks, this historic site offers visitors sweeping **views of the Gulf of Mexico** and ornate Italian-style architecture of the 1500s.

Once inside, guests will travel back through time via dimly-lit corridors to discover the past purposes of the fortress – including a former prison.
