Founded by Anton Dohrn, the Zoological Station was created to shed light on the validity of Darwin's theory of evolution by studying marine life. Now, visitors can explore the ocean's workings and ecosystems, observing how organisms have adapted to their surroundings over the course of billions of years. Witness the emergence of primitive life forms that first appeared in the ocean over three billion years ago.
