Step inside a unique 16th-century castle bursting with vibrant colors and Romantic, Renaissance, Manueline, and Moorish styles.
This ticket gets you access to the castle complex – including a number of impressive gardens with 500+ tree species – as well as the interior of the palace. Inside, you'll see beautiful azulejo tiles, carved arches, and artifacts from the royal residents.
Take a moment to admire the stunning views from this UNESCO-listed site – from the castle, you'll see the beautiful Sintra region below, the coastline, and Lisbon in the distance.

Parking at Pena Palace is very limited; public transport is advised
Dogs are not permitted in the palace or park, except for guide dogs
Not recommended for wheelchair users, those with limited mobility, or strollers
** From March 2nd to April 1st, 2026, the Private Apartments area of The National Palace of Pena will be restricted to visitors, due to ongoing works **
In Sintra, arrange transport from the city to Pena Palace (tuk tuk, taxi, bus, or car)
When you get to the castle complex entry, find the line for pre-booked tickets; a staff member will escort you to the priority entrance
Then, walk another 10 min uphill to the palace entry (or take the shuttle, arrives every 15 min, €3)
**The time indicated on the ticket corresponds to the timed entry to the palace (not entry into the park)**
At the palace entry, show your smartphone ticket to the staff; latecomers will not be admitted
Inside the palace, flash photography and tripods are not allowed
You can access the park at any time during your visit
