Tam Coc/Trang An, Hoa Lu & Mua Cave: Guided Tour from Hanoi + Boat Ride

The experience

Visit an ancient capital and enjoy a bamboo boat ride through caves

Get picked up by the guide and depart for Ninh Binh province, with a short 15-20 minute break during the trip.

Upon arrival, visit Hoa Lư, the ancient capital of Vietnam from 968 to 1010, and learn about Vietnamese history under the Dinh, Le, and Ly Dynasties.

Enjoy a buffet lunch featuring local foods such as goat meat, fish, chicken, and fried rice. Vegetarian options are also available.

Take a 2.5-hour bamboo boat ride through Tam Coc, where you’ll pass by paddy fields, rivers, and a cave system often called “Ha Long Bay on land.”

Cycle around the village for 45 minutes to observe local life. Head to Mua Cave, where you can walk up nearly 500 steps for amazing views.

Return to Hanoi and get dropped off at your hotel in the Old Quarter.
