The experience

Visit the Egyptian National Museum and see the Pyramids of Giza

Start your trip to Cairo with a midnight departure from Sharm El-Sheikh. After an 8-10 hour drive, arrive at the Egyptian National Museum, which houses over 160,000 artifacts. Visit the Pyramids of Giza—Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. See the Sphinx near the pyramids.

Learn about papyrus making at the Papyrus Institute. Shop for souvenirs at the oil refinery. For an optional $10, take a boat ride on the Nile River. The boat ride offers a unique view of Cairo from the water. Have a buffet lunch featuring Egyptian dishes.

Leave Cairo between late afternoon and early evening, arriving back at your hotel around 1:00. Activities may change based on the needs of the day but will focus on Cairo's main sights.
