In 1959 Hawkins, Indiana, the Creel family wants a fresh start, especially their teenage son Henry. At first, things seem to improve. Henry makes friends and joins the school play. However, a series of crimes soon rocks the town. Henry begins to suspect he may be connected to these events. As the mystery unfolds, the past resurfaces, relationships are strained, and Hawkins faces a critical question.
