The experience
Visit a multicultural museum dedicated to preserving the heritage of Asian countries. The Museum of the Orient opened in 2008 and is located on Lisbon's riverside in Alcântara.
Explore two main collections: Portuguese Presence in Asia and Kwok On. The Portuguese Presence collection covers India, Sri Lanka, China, Macao, Japan, and East Timor, highlighting trade relations, culture, science, technology, and religion.
The Kwok On collection features over 15,000 items related to the performative arts and narrative, religious, and ritual heritage of Asia.
Discover the cultural exchanges between East and West through these exhibits, showcasing a rich variety of historical and contemporary Asian artifacts.
