The experience
Start at the Bahia Palace, a 19th-century residence with gardens, tilework, and carved wooden ceilings. It was later expanded to include the Royal harem.
Continue to the Mellah, the old Jewish quarter with narrow streets, spice shops, and traditional balconies.
Walk past the Royal Palace, still an official residence, and Bab Agnaou, a 12th-century gate.
See the Koutoubia Mosque, whose minaret inspired the Giralda tower in Seville.
Cross Jemaa el Fna, a lively square with storytellers, vendors, and artisans.
End the tour at the 16th-century Ben Youssef Madrasa, once one of the largest Islamic colleges.
