Learn traditional crafts and observe geothermal mud pools

Visit the Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley to see the Pōhutu Geyser, the largest active geyser in the southern hemisphere, as well as geothermal activity such as mud pools and steaming vents. Learn about Māori cultural heritage at the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute, where students practice traditional weaving and carving techniques. Check out the Kiwi Conservation Centre to see kiwis in a nocturnal setting. Watch a Māori cultural performance of song and dance in a carved meeting house. Have a hāngī buffet meal at the Pātaka Kai Restaurant & Bar, overlooking the geothermal area. The visit includes a guided tour, a buffet meal, and a cultural show.
