The experience
Journey through five centuries of masterpieces
The scope of this 1,500-piece-strong collection is absolutely staggering! Whether you're into Italian Baroque, Dutch Golden Age, lesser-known influential German artists, or just beautiful canvasses, the Gemäldegalerie has got you covered. Explore a world of works collected by the Prussian government, as far back as 1815 with this ticket.
The works are one thing, but the building's design is equally awe-inspiring. Wander from the central 'meditation hall' into as many of the 72 side rooms as you can handle, and take in the sheer weight of artistic accomplishment.
Brushstrokes and images from masters spanning countries and centuries from medieval German paintings to Italian Baroque masterpieces. Caravaggio's _amor Victorious_ shows the winged child-god happily trodding all over human accomplishment. Because love conquers all, even the good stuff.
