The Columbia Icefield Skywalk experience makes you part of nature from the heights of a giant glass walkway! It might be terrifying if it wasn't so mesmerizing. Audio guide commentary connects you to the surrounding nature in new and amazing ways, while you watch clouds changing colors and shapes from this glass-encased vantage point.

Important visitor information

Must know

Tours may not operate in bad weather

Be sure to wear layers and closed-toe shoes

Remember to bring a water bottle to fill with fresh glacier water

Before purchase

Kids under 6 can join for free but must sit on a parent's lap on the shuttle bus. Please select a free ticket for them

Reduced tickets available onsite for Alberta residents only

How to use

Show your smartphone ticket at the Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre

You may then board the shuttle bus taking you to the Columbia Icefield Skywalk (4-minute drive)

Scan your ticket at the entrance of the Columbia Icefield Skywalk and pick up your audio guide there

The best time to visit the Skywalk is before 13:00 or after 15:00

Free, small-group Interpretive Guided Tours depart every 30 minutes from the Discovery Centre (optional, first-come first served)
