Sample a variety of traditional foods at a Christkindlmarkt
Many of the world’s beloved seasonal traditions, such as the Christmas tree and Advent calendar, originate in Germany. For Germans, there's nothing like the atmosphere of an authentic Christkindlmarkt.
Experience this traditional Christmas delight in Munich, which has hosted Christmas markets for 600 years. The medieval town center transforms into a winter wonderland, with stalls offering classic decorations and gifts amidst the scent of roasted nuts and hot spiced wine.
Your guide will share the history of the markets and the meaning of the displays, along with Advent and Christmas rituals. Sample a variety of traditional foods and drinks essential to each market, from sugared almonds and gingerbread to hot mulled wine.
